Career
Peeke played three seasons with the South Kent Prep School (USPHL) before getting chosen by the Green Bay Gamblers of the United States Hockey League (USHL) and completing his studies at Ashwaubenon High School. During his tenure there, he was named the USPHL’s Defensive Player of the Year and committed to playing NCAA Division I ice hockey with the Notre Dame Fighting Irish men’s ice hockey team. When he signed with the Gamblers for the 2015–16 season, he became the team’s 17-year-old defender. Peeke played in 56 games during his one season with the Gamblers, contributing four goals and 26 assists for a total of 30 points.
At the conclusion of the season, he was also chosen for the USHL All-Academic Team and the 2016 Scholar-Athlete Award. Peeke participated in three seasons of ice hockey for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish Men while pursuing a degree in management consulting. In the 2016 NHL Entry Draft, he was selected by the Columbus Blue Jackets as the team’s thirteenth American pick. Peeke joined the Fighting Irish in 2016–17 and contributed 14 points in 40 games as the team transitioned from the Hockey East Conference to the Big Ten Conference.
