Among many others, he is well known for his roles as Winston Zeddemore in the Ghostbusters film series, Sergeant Darryl Albrecht in The Crow, and Warden Leo Glynn in HBO’s Oz. He gained fame as Winston Zeddemore as a result, who joins the Ghostbusters in the movies Ghostbusters and its 1989 sequel.
He also tried out for the Ghostbuster part in the animated series The Real Ghostbusters, but Arsenio Hall was given the part instead. In The Hand That Rocks the Cradle, he also portrayed the mentally challenged handyman Solomon. In the 2016 Ghostbusters reboot, this actor portrayed Bill Jenkins, the uncle of Leslie Jones’ lead character Pattie Tolan.
