Allen made his List A debut for Auckland in the 2017-18 Ford Trophy on February 17, 2018, and his first-class debut for Auckland in the 2017-18 Plunket Shield season on March 9, 2018, following his international debut for New Zealand at the 2016 Under-19 Cricket World Cup.
