Career

Before PRO Rugby’s 2016 inaugural season, Germishuys signed with the Denver Stampede. On May 15, 2016, Germishuys made his Stampede debut, starting as a flanker and scoring two tries in a 36-13 victory over Sacramento. In his nine appearances with the Stampede, Germishuys scored six tries.

In January 2017, Germishuys joined the Austin Huns. In Division 1 national championship game between the Huns and the New York Athletic Club, which the Huns won 23-20, Germishuys was chosen as the game’s Most Valuable Player (or “man of the match”).

Before the 2018 inaugural season, Germishuys joined the Austin Elite in the newly established Major Competition Rugby league. On April 21, 2018, against Glendale, Germishuys made his Elite debut for the squad, starting as a flanker and scoring a try.

Germishuys tied for ninth place among league leaders in individual scoring and second place among league leaders in individual tries scored this season with six tries scored in five Elite outings. At the end of the season, Germishuys was selected as a flanker for the All-MLR First Team.
