John Larroquette

John Larroquette’s acting career was spent as the profane and womanizing lawyer Dan Fielding in Night Court for about ten years. John Larroquette met his wife in 1974 while developing the piece Enter Laughing.

The majority of his free time was spent leering at women or making advances toward Christine Sullivan, who was portrayed by Markie Post. John Larroquette won four Emmys between 1985 and 1988 for his portrayal of Fielding because he was so believable in the part. But, the actor is not at all like the character he plays in real life. His solitary love, Elizabeth Larroquette, née Cookson, has received his complete devotion. The pair makes an exception in Hollywood, where divorce rates are high.

The couple first met, fell in love, and started dating before deciding to move forward in their relationship. The only day without rehearsals was July 4, 1975, the day they were married.

After John Larroquette’s marriage, the actor struggled with alcoholism from the middle of the 1970s through the beginning of the 1980s. Then, in February 1982, John Larroquette experienced a moment of clarity. He gave up drinking, made a conscious effort to live a different life, and was fortunate to land a job on Night Court. The youngest, Ben, is well-recognized for his love of music and his involvement in campaigns designed to strengthen the environment. He graduated from Berklee College of Music. Jonathan is an actor and composer who has contributed to movies including Wednesday Again (2006), Happy Family (2003), and Payne (1999). (2008).

But, Jonathan found his niche in comedy while his father established himself as a womanizing lawyer and all-American father figure. He is a member of the hugely successful comic podcast. Dude. Jonathan wrote in the description of a Father’s Day post that his father was his inspiration, “Trying to make others laugh is a direct result of how much you made me laugh and how intense and powerful that emotion was for me growing up.
