Jared Fogle began working at American Trans Air’s revenue management division after receiving his degree. He authored a piece about his weight loss in the Indiana Daily Student in 1999. Later, he was mentioned in the Men’s Health magazine story “Stupid Diets… that Work!”
With reduced portions of Subway meals, he shed 91 kg (200 pounds). The subject was chosen by Subway Chicago’s public relations team. As a result, he rose in popularity and earned the nickname “the Subway Man.”
