Career
On June 27, 2008, in a T-20 Cup encounter between the Surrey first team and the Middlesex Cricket Team, Jason Roy made his professional debut. The NatWest Pro40 League match against Yorkshire on July 20, the day before his 18th birthday, was his first List A game.
However, he was benched after the game and didn’t have another chance to play until 2010, when he was once more selected for the first team. He proved his worth and displayed his abilities during a game against Kent in Beckenham to anyone who might have thought it would have been better to get rid of the player.
Roy scored 101 runs off of 51 balls, giving Surrey its first T20 century. Jason had the highest run total in the NatWest T20 Blast in 2014 with a total of 677 runs scored throughout the entire league.
On May 8, 2015, Jason Roy played against Ireland in his first ODI. His performance in that game was fairly impressive, and in June 2015 he was chosen for the five-match series against New Zealand.
