Career
After spending time on loan with Esher and Worthing, Marler joined the Harlequins Academy in 2008 and made his first team debut in the 2009–2010 season.
Marler has seen his experience in the lower tiers as an essential learning curve that allowed him to master all of the skills required for the prop trade.
He especially refers to Bobby Walsh, a former coach, who provided technical guidance on scrummaging. He has occasionally covered the tighthead side of the scrum thanks to his experience at this level.
