The athlete represented Virginia Tech and renowned coach Frank Beamer from 2000 to 2003. He is the football recruit with the highest rating in Virginia Tech history.
Jones also replaced starter Lee Suggs during his rookie season due to an injury. Additionally, he set a freshman mark for rushing yards.

In Week 7, Kevin replaced Matt as the starter versus the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He ran for 105 yards on 23 attempts and scored once in a Week 8 victory over the division’s Chicago Bears.
