She is 93 years old and was born on 28th September 1929.

She was regarded as one of India’s best and most popular vocalists. Throughout their seven-decade career, she made significant contributions to the Indian music business, earning her the honorific titles Nightingale of India, Voice of the Millennium, and Queen of Melody.

Lata Mangeshkar was born into a Gomantak Maratha family in the princely state of Indore, which was a part of the Central India Agency (now part of Madhya Pradesh). Lata’s first guru is the classical vocalist Deenanath, who is her father. To connect his family with his hometown of Mangeshi in Goa, Deenanath changed the family name from Hardikar to Mangeshkar. Hema was Lata’s given name at birth. Eventually, her parents gave her the name Lata after Latika, a female character in one of her father’s plays, BhaawBandhan. The oldest of her parents’ offspring is Lata. Meena, Asha Bhosle, Usha, and Hridaynath are her siblings, listed in that order.

On the first day of class, she made an attempt to teach songs to other pupils, but the teacher caught her and chastised her. She stopped studying because of this. According to certain rumors, Lata used to carry Asha to school with her even though administrators and teachers forbade it. She gave up on her education for this reason.

Career

She started appearing in her father’s musical productions at the age of 5. In 1942, when she was 13 years old, her father died. The proprietor of the Theatre Company and a close friend of his father, Master Vinayak, looked after their family and helped Lata begin her singing career.

In the 1942 Marathi film PahiliMangalaa-gaur, in which she performed the song “Natali ChaitraachiNavalaai,” Vinayak offered her a small role.
“Mata EkSapoot Ki Duniya Badal De Tu,” her first Hindi song, was included in the Marathi movie Gajaabhaau (1943)
