As Young Simba in the 2003 Broadway production of The Lion King, Thomas made his acting debut. Later, in 2004, he appeared on Broadway in Tony Kushner’s Caroline, or Change as Jackie Thibodeaux. He signed up for the 2007 movie August Rush. The same year, he agreed to a deal with Nickelodeon for the musical animated series The Backyardigans.
