Mark Foster moved to Sylmar, California, where he resided with his uncle after completing high school. He moved to be nearer Los Angeles so he could pursue a music career. For the following six years, he failed to influence the music business and worked several jobs instead, including bartending, house painting, telemarketing, and waiting tables.
