Meredith’s childhood dream was to become a journalist. She started working in radio the same year she graduated in 1975. With the radio station WORC, she started her career as a newscaster. She then started working as a local reporter for a television network, which ultimately brought her to WCBS-TV in New York City as an investigative reporter. Before getting her first break in 1982 when she was accepted into the CBS newsroom, she had to fight for roughly 6-7 years.
