Career
He joined WATH to practice his announcing while attending Ohio University. He began working for Cincinnati’s NBC station, WLWT-TV, after graduating from Ohio. Together with Johnny Bench, he served as the Cincinnati Reds’ TV play-by-play commentator.
Thom Brennaman covered Chicago Cubs games for WGN-TV in the early 1990s. He was hired by Fox Sports in 1994 to announce MLB and NFL games. Football and college basketball are also broadcast on Fox.
He served as the Diamondbacks’ initial TV announcer from 1998 until 2006. He departed the Diamondbacks in 2006 to move in with his father Marty. In 2006, Fox hired him to call the BCS.
